SPECIAL OLYMPICS GA - AUGUSTA STARS
We are looking to start practices for the Fall Games. Bocce begins August 3rd from 6:30-7:30PM at Lynndale at the end of Eisenhower Road. Cycling Cycling begins Tuesday, 4 August at 7-8PM at 308 Taylor Cir, Grovetown. We will practice every week until the Fall Games Oct 16-17. (Cycling Practice in September is 6:30-7:30PM and practice in October is 6-7PM. This allows us to beat the heat and finish before dark.) WHO ARE THE AUGUSTA STARS?

Created in 1995

Majority of athletes are age 22 or older, but our youth program is growing

There is no maximum age limitation for participation in Special Olympics; The minimum age requirement for participation in Special Olympics Georgia competition is 8 years of age

Currently we have over 100 athletes and 30 assistant coaches/unified partners

Compete year round

Approximately 85% of our registered athletes compete in at least one state competition per year

Our Story
The Augusta Stars were established in 1995 and this year marks the 30th year with over 50 athletes consistantly training and competing year-round. Additionally, the Augusta Stars touches another 50 athletes who participate when they can.
